We are a small adventure tour operation based out of San Pedro la Laguna on the shores of beautiful Lake Atitlán, catering to adventurous people and families who would like to experience the wonders of Guatemala. We offer an unconventional experience by venturing off the beaten track, while offering all levels of comfort from independent hikes to luxury camping.
We camp in ancient Mayan ruins, witness sunrises and sunsets from towering temples, sunbathe on the shores of crater lakes, hike active volcanoes, surf on the Pacific coast, paddle rivers and lakes and explore the best of what Guatemala and Central America have to offer.
We provide all camping facilities:- tents, sleeping bags, hammocks, mosquito nets, inflatable mattress, we offer informative English guided tours with history on the sights we visit , we provide 2 fresh home cooked meals a day, breakfast and dinner, lunch is usually taken at roadside restaurants, serving as rest-stop and an opportunity to experience local cuisine.
Our tours vary in duration from half day, one night excursions to 10 day trips encompassing most of Guatemala.
If you would prefer not to camp we are pleased to offer something completely different… a Magirus Deutz 4 wheel drive overland vehicle, available to rent by the day, complete with, English guide, driver and cook – see www.trekmaya.com ,as well as an extensive database of fine and friendly hotels.
With regards security concerns, if there are any we take a fully armed police escort.
Your host – guide – driver- cook – camp erector (owner) is me Jack, originally from Zimbabwe, I have lived on the lake for the last 9 years and have been running adventure tours for the past 5.
